About
San Jose State University Quiddich was started in Spring 2010 by Emily Knight. What originally consisted of a couple of friends playing quidditch quickly became one of the most talked about clubs on campus. From 8 members to 30, we have grown immensely since we started, gaining recognition from local newspapers and media.
In March 2012, SJSU Quidditch traveled to Western Cup III located in Los Angeles, CA. There we were able to push ourselves to the limit and prove that we are a dedicated quidditch team. Our hard work paid off when we left with 5th place out of 19 teams.
In addition to our regular members, we also have new members showing up all the time. We welcome them and are happy to show them how to play quidditch.
Many people know quidditch as the sport played in Harry Potter. In quidditch, wizards fly on brooms chasing enchanted balls. Muggle quidditch recreates the fun and excitement of quidditch without the flying or enchanted balls. Quidditch is an international sport played by thousands of people all over the world. Currently governed by the International Quidditch Association, quidditch is promoted as a sport for both kids and adults.
SJSU Quidditch is a nonprofit club and unaffiliated with Time Warner, the Warner Brothers, or J.K. Rowling.
